Welcome to Villa La Jolla at Los Encantos, our Belizean paradise.

Villa La Jolla (“the jewel”, in Spanish) is a two level private home constructed of local mahogany and sandstone and located directly on the Caribbean ocean. It is a place of great beauty and a stepping stone to adventure.

We are avid SCUBA divers and it doesn’t get any better in this hemisphere. Only the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is bigger than the coral reef along Belize’s coast. A five to ten minute boat ride takes you to some of the world’s best dives. And, of course, the world famous Blue Hole is a day trip from Villa La Jolla.

More information and photos are available at http://www.vrbo.com/227493.

We come to this spot on northern Ambergris Caye for the peace and solitude. Villa La Jolla and the four-villa development in which it is located, Los Encantos, is 4.5 miles from San Pedro and the airstrip. Easily accessible by private water taxi, the regularly scheduled Island Ferry, bike or golfcart, the location gives you the best of all worlds.

Needless to say, all activities inland are easy to get to (cave tubing, Mayan ruins, and spas) and we have loads of recommendations. But, with our large pool and lovely palapa and pier, we don’t leave often.

Some of the best bone fishing on the island is at our door step (literally). The bonefish “jump” at dawn and dusk and they are quite a sight. You can fish on your own, or we know numerous local guides who can assist you.

There are some terrific restaurants along the beach, only a ten minute walk north or south of Villa La Jolla. And, San Pedro has some great offerings, as well.

The villa has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Also, we have satellite TV and an internet connection. Most importantly, though, we have a barbeque grill on which you can prepare the catch-of-the day or local chicken or ribs.

Villa La Jolla rents for $375 per night (or less, if only one or two people are renting) plus 9% hotel tax. The rate goes to $425 from Dec. 15 – Jan. 5th.

We would be delighted to “chat” with you further about this fabulous place in Belize and our special spot there, one that we would love to share with you. Please contact Sally at sally@losencantos.com.
